Jane stumbled from the car with a slight groan, more than eager to get her feet planted on steady earth once more. She actually slid to her knees for a moment they were trembling so badly! And her stomach was churning from the last fifteen minutes of mountain dirt roads…

Jane stood awkwardly at the edge of the garden party, fingering her new yellow dress and sipping from her cup as she looked around. This was a bad idea…why’d she come again? Oh right, because Aurora had insisted. She sipped at her drink again, feeling the buzz in her mind. She did feel more relaxed…but on the other hand she was nervous too. Where’d Rory gone off to? Jane took an involuntary step back from the loud male, though luckily she had enough alcohol in her system that she didn’t feel the fear she usually did. Liking the feeling, she took another sip of her drink. “I lost my flatmate.” she said with a shrug. “She hurried off, likely in search of her boyfriend…not that I can blame her I suppose, but even so… I hate not knowing anyone.”
